Catalyst’s Influence Cases for the iPhone 16 line-up come in models, different sizes and price points ranging from US$39.99 to $59.99. One is specifically made for MagSafe functionality and is my favorite of the two.
The Catalyst Influence Case has a raised edge that protects the smartphone’s camera. Also, it’s designed to be 2.5X more drop-proof than the military standard (10 feet). I’ll take the word of the folks at Catalyst about this, as I’m not about to repeatedly drop my pricey iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, klutz that I am, I have dropped it without any damage with the Influence Case installed.
Speaking of installation, it’s easy. Just squeeze the smartphone into it. Once you do, you’ll appreciate the anti-slip grip, which helps prevent an iPhone slipping from your hand.
The Influence has a drop prevention lanyard, and four corner attachments so you can attach accessories prevent drops by slipping the lanyard around, for instance, your neck. I prefer to carry my iPhone in a holster case on my belt.
According to the folks at Catalyst, the Influence includes patented forwarded facing audio developed for crystal-clear sound. They say that users will enjoy 30% louder sound while reducing background noise. To be honest, I have noticed somewhat more volume with the case installed but nowhere near 30%.
Despite this, I really enjoy the Influence case. It reasonably attractive and offers solid protection for an iPhone.
