He also expects the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the foldable iPhone, the Apple Watch Series 12, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 in the same time period. Other possibilities are a new Apple TV 4K set-top box and new HomePod minis.
Just like the AirPods 4, the AirPods 5 will probably come in come in standard and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) configurations. I’m not sure how the AirPods 5 will differ from the AirPods 4, which launched in September 2024. However, references found in recent macOS code updates point toward a possible upgrade to a new H3 chip for better audio latency and performance
Prices are expected to stay competitive, likely aligning with the previous generation’s US$129 to $179 range.
Some of the aforementioned products will be announced at Apple’s September 9 “Surprise and Shine” event. The shindig, which is for the media and analysts, will start at 10 am (Pacific). Apple will stream the “Surprise and Shine” event on YouTube, on the Apple Events website, and in the Apple TV app
