In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reiterated that there’ll be no new design changes in the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
He does think we’ll see a ceramic version of the Apple Watch Series 12 offered. The last time a ceramic Apple Watch was available was the Series 5 Edition model.
There have been rumors that Touch ID would be coming tot eh smartwatches. However, Gurman now doubts this will happen. Otherwise, the tweaks will likely be faster performance and improvements to health and fitness tracking.
The Series 11 and Ultra 3 both have an S10 chip that debuted in the Series 10 and Ultra 2, so the S11 chip or newer should provide the first Apple Watch performance improvements in years. Gurman says there won’t be an Apple Watch SE 4 released this year.
The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 will almost certainly be unveiled at Apple’s September 9 “Surprise and Shine” event. The shindig, which is for the media and analysts, will start at 10 am (Pacific). Apple will stream the “Surprise and Shine” event on YouTube, on the Apple Events website, and in the Apple TV app.
Also expect the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone to debut at the same time. Other possibilities include an updated Apple TV 4K
