<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple’s iPhone X remained the most popular smartphone in Europe in the first quarter of 2018, even as overall shipments fell 6.3% year-on-year, according to new data from <a href="http://www.canalys.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Canalys</a>.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Revealed <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fepqIO57f8" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">by</a> <em>EverythingApplePro</em> on YouTube a malicious message dubbed “Black Dot” message has been discovered. It takes advantage of a bug in Unicode to crash Apple's Messages app on iPhones and iPads running iOS 11.3 and the beta releases of iOS 11.4. </p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a patent involving its current and future iPhone and iPad stands. Patent number 9,966,984 is for a “device case with a balanced hinge” that provides some amount of torsional force that would allow an iPhone or iPad to  be angled “at an almost unlimited number of angles relative to a surface on which the computing device is resting.”</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a patent (number 9,965,995) for an “electronic device having display with curved edges” that shows that the tech giant has at least considered making an Apple Watch with a circular design.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">More than two years after Apple was forced to pay out $450 million to resolve an e-books antitrust case, the tech giant has informed shareholders that it’s agreed to stipulations for settlement of a lingering derivative complaint, reports <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/05/07/apple-agrees-to-settlement-in-shareholder-derivative-complaint-over-e-book-antitrust-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a>. </p>

<p>Eltima Software’s Elmedia Video Player is a multifunctional media player for macOS 10.7 and higher that can handle some files and chores that Apple’s QuickTime Player can’t.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">According to Japanese blog <a href="http://www.macotakara.jp/blog/rumor/entry-34952.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Mac Otakara</em></a> — as noted by <a href="http://www.macrumors.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em></a> — Apple's upcoming 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will be about "the same size" as the iPhone 8 Plus with an edge-to-edge display and support for horizontal Face ID.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;"><em>Corporate Responsibility Magazine (</em><a href="http://www.thecro.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>CR Magazine</em></a><em>) </em>has announced today its 19th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens list, recognizing the “standout environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of public companies across the U.S.” Apple makes the list, in 90th place and moving up two spots from 2017.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple is urging regulators to include more unlicensed spectrum bands in their plans while the FCC is taking comments about how it should treat the “super-high” spectrum bands, reports <a href="https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/apple-presses-for-more-unlicensed-allocations-super-high-spectrum-bands" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>FierceWireless</em></a>. The tech giant suggests that a higher proportion of unlicensed spectrum could be achieved through sharing with licensed services.</p>
