Apple: ‘Bloomberg Businessweek’ is wrong, wrong, wrong

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple says the October 2018 issue of <em>Bloomberg Businessweek</em> incorrectly reports that the tech giant found “malicious chips” in servers on its network in 2015. Apple says it has repeatedly explained to <em>Bloomberg </em>reporters and editors over the past 12 months, there is no truth to these claims. <p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-companies?srnd=premium)" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg </em>report </a>claims Apple, Amazon, and almost 30 other companies have been the subject of hacking by Chinese spies embedding chips in hardware for surveillance purposes. Charlie Sloth leaves the BBC for Apple Music

He’ll host a new worldwide show on Beats 1, and will contribute to the creation and curation of playlists, the article adds.</p>

Flurry Analytics: iPhone Xs, Xs Max sales off to a strong start

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The analytics firm of <a href="http://www.flurrymobile.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Flurry Insights</a> looked at device activations of the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max from Friday, Sept. 21, through Thursday, Sept. 27. During their first full week, the new Apple smartphones gained a market share of 0.42% and 0.68%, respectively, for a total of 1.1%.</p>

Cross your fingers that a new Apple Thunderbolt Display is coming soon

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;"><a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/10/03/availability-shrinking-for-lg-ultrafine-5k-display-at-apple-stores" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a><em> </em>notes that the online Apple Store is no longer offering in-store pickup for the LG UltraFine 5K Display for a large number of outlets, indicating that the screens may be replaced by a new model, “potentially even the anticipated Apple-produced displays.” Let’s hope it’s the latter, which would make Mac laptop owners like me very happy.</p>
