<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple looks to win unconditional EU antitrust approval for its planned acquisition of British music discovery app Shazam, reports <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-shazam-m-a-apple-eu/eu-set-to-clear-apples-bid-for-music-app-shazam-sources-idUSKCN1L71N3?feedType=RSS&feedName=technologyNews&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reuters%2FtechnologyNews+%28Reuters+Technology+News%29" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Reuters</em></a>, quoting two unnamed “people familiar with the matter.” A decision is due by Sept. 18.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Addigy, a provider of cloud-based Apple device management software, has announced new security and management enhancements to the company’s Apple Device Management Platform.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">WaterField Designs has introduced the <a href="https://www.sfbags.com/products/tech-folio-gear-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tech Folio Plus</a>, a gear organizer designed to protect an iPad and electronic accessories that IT consultants and specialists in their field carry with them every day. </p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Jen Folse, an Apple exec who served as lead designer on a number of projects including tvOS, has left the tech giant to take a senior role at live social broadcasting startup Caffeine.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple apparently wants you to sleep better. The company has been granted a patent (number 10,052,061) for “adjusting alarms based on sleep onset latency.” In theory, this would allow an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch to adjust their built-in alarm clocks to adapt to your sleep patterns.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has scooped up the rights to develop a project based on the <em>New York Times Magazine</em> <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/08/01/magazine/climate-change-losing-earth.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">story</a> "Losing Earth: The Decade We Almost Stopped Climate Change," reports <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/21/business/media/apple-new-york-times-climate-change.html?partner=rss&emc=rss" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The New York Times</em></a>. </p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a patent (number 10.055,039) for “electronic devices with sidewall displays.” In other words, iPhones and iPads with displays on their slim sides in addition to the primary screen.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">With Apple’s plan to open retail stores in India still delayed pending government approval, the tech giant is planning bigger franchisee outlets at key locations in metropolitan cities, according to <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/hardware/apple-plans-flagship-outlets-in-key-locations-to-drive-sales-in-india/articleshow/65479333.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Economic Times</em></a>. </p>

New storage and processor options are likely to make it more expensive than previous versions, the article adds.</p>
