Apple has begun inviting selected members of the media to a product launch experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
In an X post, Gurman said it would be an “all-day product launch experience” for the first touchscreen MacBook, Macs with M6 processors, and a new iPad mini.
The “MacBook Ultra” is the rumored name of the upcoming Mac touchscreen with an OLED screen. Of course, the iPhone Duo was long rumored to be dubbed the “iPhone Ultra” or “iPhone Fold.”
Whatever the name, the touchscreen Mac should run M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, include a Dynamic Island instead of a notch, and (hopefully) have cellular connectivity options. It’s also expected to be lighter, if not thinner, than current MacBook Pros.
It’s likely that a base model 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip and an iMac with an M6 chip will be unveiled at the same time. The iMac will likely have no design change, though it could be available in new colors. However, don’t expect an all-in-one bigger than the current 24 inches.

As for the iPad mini, it’s likely to have an OLED display. Gurman says it’s expected to be “considerably more expensive.” How much more expensive? Around $799 compared to $599 for the current model.
