Forget the just-released iPhone 17e and the rumored iPhone 18e. Let’s talk about an iPhone 19e.
Such a device could come with an LTPO OLED display that would bring 120Hz ProMotion technology to its most affordable iPhone for the first time, according to ZDNet Korea.
The iPhone 19e is likely to be released in the first half of 2028. According to ZDNet Korea, Apple is considering applying new LTPO Plus technology to iPhone Air, which will be released in the first half of 2028, and foldable products to be released in the second half of the year, and applying LTPO to the rest of the iPhone lineup.
Apple applied LTPO OLED to all four iPhone 17 series (including Air) released in 2025, but LTPS OLED was applied to the recently released entry-level 17e. The 18e, which is scheduled to be released in 2027, will also use the LTPS method. LTPO can save power consumption than LTPS, according to ZDNet Korea.
