There have been several reports about issues and flaws with the screens of the iPhone Duo. In a statement to 9to5Mac, Apple said it is “aware of an issue impacting the inner display on a small number of iPhone Duo units,” and that affected users can contact AppleCare for a replacement.
Here is Apple’s statement: The response to iPhone Duo from early users has been incredibly positive, and we are seeing exciting things from developers who are rapidly updating their apps to take advantage of its unique form factor. We are aware of an issue impacting the inner display on a small number of iPhone Duo units. If users experience issues with their iPhone Duo display, they should contact AppleCare for a replacement.”
The company says the problem affects a very small number of iPhone Duo units and appears to surface relatively quickly. Most iPhone Duo units are not affected.
The iPhone Duo is available in star white and night sky with prices starting at US $1,999 or $83.29 per month for 24 months, in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage capacities. However, current shipping times for late (as in past 5 pm Pacific on October 19) have shipped into January.
