This year’s iPhone 14 line-up saw some substantial differences between the standard and pro models. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says in a series of tweets that this difference will be even more pronounced with 2023’s iPhone 15.
From the tweets: I believe Apple will create more differentiation between iPhone 15 Pros and iPhone 15 standard models to increase Pro shipment allocation and the new iPhone ASP [average sales price].
Taking a step further, Apple will also start creating differentiation between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro. It’s the best practice via a precise product segmentation strategy to generate more sales/profits in a mature market.
And, hey, since the iPhone 14 is here, let’s start rounding up the rumors about the iPhone 15. To wit:
° The long-rumored “periscope lens” will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2015.
° The 2023 iPhone will ditch the Lightning port and go with USB-C.
° Samsung Display is developing a new under-panel camera technology that Apple plans to use to hide Face ID under the display.
° China’s BOE will supply Apple with OLED LTPO displays for the higher-end models of the iPhone 15 lineup.
