<p>One of the common complaints about the iMac is that you have to reach behind the display to get to the connectivity ports. Satechi has launched a handy solution in the Aluminum Type-C Clamp Hub. Designed exclusively for the new 2017 iMac Pro, iMac Retina 4K and 27-inch 5K models, the hub attaches to the all-in-one display and offers front-facing ports. </p>
<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 20180014115) for an “electronic device having mechanically out-of-phase speakers” that hints at even better speakers in upcoming Mac laptops.</p>

<p>A consumer group filing a civil suit against Apple on behalf of over 100 plaintiffs for damages related to a recent software update that slowed down older iPhone models are also considering preparing a criminal case, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20180111000726" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Korea Herald</em></a>.</p>
<p>According to <em><a target="_blank" href="https://www.macrumors.com/2018/01/11/iphone-6-plus-battery-replacements-delay/" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumors</a></em>, Apple won’t have iPhone 6 Plus replacement batteries in stock until late March to early April.</p>
<p>International POS printer manufacturer <a target="_blank" href="http://www.Star-EMEA.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Star Micronics</a> says its upcoming Star TSP654II AirPrint will be the first 80 and 58mm receipt and ticket POS printer on the market to be Apple AirPrint certified. Pricing and availability haven’t been announced. </p>
<p>Apple has filed for a patent dubbed “electronic device with wireless charging and battery heating.” It seems to involve its upcoming AirPower product, which is sometime this year.</p>
<p><a target="_blank" href="https://www.bushel.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jamf Now</a>, a device management solution powered by JAMF Software, is a cloud-based solution that makes it easy for "regular people" to set up, manage and protect their Apple devices anytime from anywhere.</p>
<p>macOS High Sierra allows you to focus on apps in full screen or Split View mode (though some third party apps may not support these features). To use an app in full screen mode, in the top-left corner of the app window, click the green button, or press Control-Command-F.</p>

A world-building drama set in the future, the project is written by <em>Peaky Blinders</em> creator Steven Knight and directed by Francis Lawrence (<em>The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2</em>).</p>
<p>When U.S. adults were asked which consumer technology company is the most innovative, Apple was the clear winner among a list of 12 businesses, chosen by 26% of the 2,201 participants in a recent Morning Consult <a target="_blank" href="https://morningconsult.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Brands-IoT-Crosstabs-180102-FIN.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer">survey</a>. Samsung came in second, at 14%.</p>
<p>A bug report <a target="_blank" href="https://openradar.appspot.com/36350507" rel="noopener noreferrer">submitted on Open Radar</a> — and, as noted by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.macrumors.com" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em></a> — reveals a security vulnerability in the current version of macOS High Sierra that allows the App Store menu in System Preferences to be unlocked with any password. </p>
