<p>Apple’s iPhone 8 Plus out-shipped the iPhone 8 in the third quarter (Q3) of 2017, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.canalys.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Canalys</a>. The research group says the iPhone 7 was the world’s best-shipping smartphone in the  quarter with 13 million units shipped. </p>

<p>A new report from the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.trendforce.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">TrendForce </a>estimates that the iPhone production volume for the fourth quarter will reach 81 million units with the iPhone X accounting for 33% of the total. The research group expects a “surge” of iPhone X production that will last through the first half of 2018, which will help Apple unseat Samsung as the world’s largest smartphone maker.</p>

<p>Apple has filed for a patent (number 20170324261) for a single piece iPhone case with a battery and a hinge that would allow the device to last longer without recharging. The hinge could be bent outward, allowing users to slip the smartphone into the case. </p>

<p>The Visitor Center at Apple's new Apple Park campus (the “spaceship campus”) will open to the public on Friday, Nov. 17, according to an internal email that Apple sent out to employees. The date is also listed on a sign at Apple Park that was <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/iGrahamC/status/928367381319098368" rel="noopener noreferrer">shared</a> on Twitter.</p>

<p>Apple has announced the global expansion of its Everyone Can Code initiative to more than 20 colleges and universities outside of the U.S. These schools will now offer the App Development with Swift Curriculum, a full-year course designed by Apple engineers and educators to teach coding and app design to students of all levels and backgrounds. </p>

<p>Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s dramatic series exploring the behind-the-scenes action of daily morning shows and its players, has officially been ordered to series by Apple for two seasons, reports <a target="_blank" href="http://ew.com/tv/2017/11/08/jennifer-aniston-reese-witherspoon-series-apple/" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Entertainment Weekly</em></a>. Witherspoon and Aniston will both star in and executive-produce the untitled project.</p>

<p>Apple is working on a redesigned, “high-end iPad” (which, I assume, means an iPad Pro) for 2018 that incorporates iPhone X features such as slimmer edges and Face I.D., reports <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-11-08/apple-is-said-to-plan-2018-ipad-redesign-with-facial-recognition" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg</em></a>, quoting unnamed “people familiar with the matter.”</p>

<p>As noted by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/apple-market-cap-hits-900-billion-2017-11-08" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MarketWatch</em>,</a> Apple is the first publicly traded U.S. company to reach a $900 billion market capitalization. The tech giant passed the mark for the first time in intraday trade Wednesday.</p>

<p>Sonnet Technologies is shipping its <a target="_blank" href="http://www.sonnettech.com/product/egfx-breakaway-box.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">eGFX Breakaway Box</a> with 550-watt power supply. It’s the latest in the company's series of Thunderbolt 3 to PCI Express (PCIe) eGPU expansion chassis for professional graphics and gaming applications.</p>

<p>In the battle between Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy, American teens and adults are split on which one they want as a holiday gift, according to the Ebates Holiday Survey. </p>

<p>Yesterday<em> </em><a target="_blank" href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/AC/iPhone-supplier-Catcher-Tech-to-make-augmented-reality-parts)" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Nikkei Asian Review</em></a> reported that Apple is indeed developing augmented reality (AR) glasses that will go on sale as soon as the end of 2019. Now <em><a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-11-08/apple-is-said-to-ramp-up-work-on-augmented-reality-headset" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bloomberg</a> </em>says the “breakthrough device” will have a new chip and operating system. </p>

<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 9,813,479) for a web browser with a  video display history. It involves, of course, Safari on macOS and iOS.</p>
