<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple and production house Furlined were among the winners at the <a href="http://www.adcawards.org/">ADC 97th Annual Awards</a>, held last night at New York’s One Club for Creativity, reports <a href="http://www.adweek.com/agencies/apples-barbers-ad-for-the-iphone-wins-top-honors-at-the-adc-awards/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AdWeek</em></a>.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">NETGEAR is making an addition to its Orbi Home WiFi System product. The company says the new <a href="http://www.netgear.com/orbi/cbk40.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Orbi Tri-Band WiFi Cable Modem Router System(CBK40)</strong></a> joins the line-up as the industry’s first whole-home WiFi router with a built-in cable modem, app setup and patented, high-performance FastLane 3 Tri-Band WiFi. </p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a patent (number 9,965,995) for an “electronic device having display with curved edges” that shows that the tech giant has at least considered making an Apple Watch with a circular design.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">More than two years after Apple was forced to pay out $450 million to resolve an e-books antitrust case, the tech giant has informed shareholders that it’s agreed to stipulations for settlement of a lingering derivative complaint, reports <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/05/07/apple-agrees-to-settlement-in-shareholder-derivative-complaint-over-e-book-antitrust-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a>. </p>

<p>Eltima Software’s Elmedia Video Player is a multifunctional media player for macOS 10.7 and higher that can handle some files and chores that Apple’s QuickTime Player can’t.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">macOS High Sierra includes features that allow you to find and type special characters like emoji and currency symbols.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">According to Japanese blog <a href="http://www.macotakara.jp/blog/rumor/entry-34952.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Mac Otakara</em></a> — as noted by <a href="http://www.macrumors.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em></a> — Apple's upcoming 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will be about "the same size" as the iPhone 8 Plus with an edge-to-edge display and support for horizontal Face ID.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;"><em>Corporate Responsibility Magazine (</em><a href="http://www.thecro.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>CR Magazine</em></a><em>) </em>has announced today its 19th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens list, recognizing the “standout environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of public companies across the U.S.” Apple makes the list, in 90th place and moving up two spots from 2017.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple is urging regulators to include more unlicensed spectrum bands in their plans while the FCC is taking comments about how it should treat the “super-high” spectrum bands, reports <a href="https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/apple-presses-for-more-unlicensed-allocations-super-high-spectrum-bands" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>FierceWireless</em></a>. The tech giant suggests that a higher proportion of unlicensed spectrum could be achieved through sharing with licensed services.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple denies that it’s taking advantage of the large number of iOS users in China and overcharging them when they have in-app purchases, reports <em>Chinanews.com.</em></p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Twenty years ago yesterday (May 6) Steve Jobs introduced the iMac, which turned Apple’s fortunes around. The all-in-one desktop has gone through various intriguing redesigns, so what could the tech giant have planned for the future? Here are some possibilities I’m serving up for fun.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">In a new support document sent to retail stores and Authorized Service Providers — and obtained by <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2018/05/06/face-id-rear-camera-repair-iphone-x/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>9to5Mac</em></a><em> —</em> Apple has outlined an updated repair process for cases where users are experiencing issues with Face ID on the iPhone X.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a second patent (number 20170205873, the others are 20170205873 and 9,898,074)  for a “scanning depth engine.” It involves a Mac with the ability to generate a 3D profile of an object by processing an optical image of the object.</p>
