<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Another day, another lawsuit. A company called Social Technologies has filed a second lawsuit that claims Apple can’t trademark the term, “Memoji,” reports <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/09/30/apple-accused-of-trademark-abuse-in-new-memoji-lawsuit" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a>.</p>
<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has released iOS 13.1.2, iPadOS 13.1.2, and watchOS 6.0.1. The first two contain bug fixes and minor improvements.</p>
<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">So much for disappointing iPhone sales rumors. Apple traded as much as 1.6% higher Monday after JPMorgan raised its price target on the company. The firm now expects the stock to climb 20% over the next 12 months, notes <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/apple-stock-price-could-spike-20-percent-iphone-sales-jpmorgan-2019-9-1028563619" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Business Insider</em></a>.</p>

In fact, the price is five dollars less than the cases for the 2018 Apple smartphones. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Earlier we noted that, according to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-plans-to-bring-feature-length-films-to-theaters-11569579632" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Wall Street Journal</em></a><em>,</em> Apple has "made overtures to cinema chains and consulted with an entertainment executive" as it considers following a traditional theatrical release plan that would keep its films in theaters for weeks before availability on Apple TV+, the company’s upcoming streaming service. Now <a href="https://variety.com/2019/film/news/apple-theatrical-dates-anthony-mackie-hala-elephant-queen-1203352195/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Variety</em></a><em> </em>has given up an update on the situation.</p>
<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has hired David Smoley, chief information officer of pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, for a vice president role, according to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-27/apple-hires-astrazeneca-chief-information-officer-smoley" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg</em></a>. He’ll report to Mary Demby, Apple’s chief information officer.</p>
<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">An iOS researcher with the Twitter handle @asi0mX has announced the <a href="https://twitter.com/axi0mX/status/1177542201670168576" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">release of a new iOS exploit named checkm8</a> that claims to have serious consequences for iPhone and iPad hardware, as well as Apple Watches.</p>
