<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has lost its bid to dismiss a former employee's lawsuit over claims he invented services like Find My iPhone and Passbook but wasn’t included on patents subsequently filed by the tech giant, reports <a href="https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/08/21/court_backs_apple_creator/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Register.</a></p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has files for a patent (number 20190258058) for a “head-mounted display for virtual reality with inside-out positional, user body and environmental tracking.” It’s one of many patents the company has filed for — or already been granted — for the rumored “Apple Glasses,” an augmented reality/virtual reality headset.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><em>Bloomberg</em>’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu, both of whom are reliable sources for Apple news, are expecting an incoming Apple media event <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-22/iphone-11-new-ipad-pro-16-inch-macbook-pro-airpods-3-features" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">to announce</a> the following products:</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple is expected (but it’s not been confirmed) to hold a special media event on Sept. 10. Whether to not that happens, the tech giant has filed several unreleased iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac model numbers with the Eurasian Economic Commission today, according to filings uncovered by<a href="https://www.macrumors.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> M<em>acRumors</em></a><em>.</em> </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/China-tech/Apple-puts-China-s-BOE-to-test-for-cutting-edge-iPhone-screens" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nikkei Asian Review</a><em> </em>says Apple is in the final stages of certifying advanced screens from China’s top display maker BOE Technology Group for 2020 iPhones in an attempt to reduce costs and lesson its reliance on Samsung Electronics for such displays.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">A new report by Wall Street research firm Cowen — as noted by<a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/08/21/apple-tv-predicted-to-hit-12m-subscriptions-by-2020-21m-by-2021" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> AppleInsider </a>— predicts that AppleTV +, Apple’s upcoming video streaming service, should rack up 12 million subscriptions by the end of 2020. The analysts think the tech giant will break even in its original content production efforts if it reaches 10 million users. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><a href="https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/08/20/apple-wheels-and-deals-big-cupertino-office-center-home-town/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Mercury News reports</a> that Apple has bought two office buildings at the corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Torres Avenue in Cupertino, California, according to property documents filed with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Another day, another lawsuit. As noted by <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/08/20/apple-sued-over-2016-leg-injury-caused-by-alleged-macbook-battery-issue" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">AppleInsider,</a> Apple is being sued for allegedly selling a faulty MacBook and charger, one which allegedly overheated and caused permanent burn marks to the plaintiff’s leg in 2016.</p>
