92% of iPhone users likely to upgrade in the next 12 months

<p>In a note to clients — as noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://www.macrumors.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumors</a> — investment banking firm Morgan Stanley 92% of iPhone owners say they're "somewhat likely" or "extremely likely" to upgrade their smartphone in the next 12 months. The loyalty rate, up from 86% a year ago, is based on an April 2017 survey of 1,000 smartphone owners aged 18 and above in the United States.</p>

Apple captures 12% of the Russian smartphone market by volume

<p>According to the latest research from <a target="_blank" href="http://www.counterpointresearch.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Counterpoint Research's Market Monitor</a> service, Russia smartphone shipments grew 6% annually during the first quarter (Q1) 2017 but declined 42% sequentially. Apple was the second largest smartphone brand in Russia with a market share of 12% by volume (8% by market share) with the iPhones 5S still capturing a fourth of the company’s shipments.</p>

Apple starts domestic production of the iPhone SE in India

<p>The <a target="_blank" href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-assembles-first-iphones-in-india-1495016276?mod=e2tw" rel="noopener noreferrer">Wall Street Journal</a> says Apple has confirmed that its manufacturing partners in India have started domestic production of the iPhone SE. Previously, Apple produced most of its smartphones iPhones in China with a few older models assembled in Brazil.</p>
