Daylight saving time (DST), the practice of advancing clocks by one hour during warmer months so that evening daylight lasts longer, went into effect this weekend.
Clocks moved back 1 hour (from 2:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.), returning to standard time. But this may have affected some Apple Watches.
According to an Apple support document, after DST changes in your area, your Apple Watch might continue to show time that’s off by one hour.
This incorrect time appears only on the Always On display when your wrist is down; when you activate the display by tapping it or raising your wrist, the time changes to the correct hour.
Apple says Apple Watch features like alarms are not affected by this issue.
How to get the correct time
If your Apple Watch is showing incorrect time on its Always On display after daylight saving time changes, try either of these things:
- Switch to any other watch face, then switch back to your preferred watch face.
- Restart your Apple Watch.
If you do nothing, the issue will still resolve itself at midnight following the time change, according to Apple.
