Apple still plans to roll out a touchscreen iMac, M6 MacBook, and M6 iMacs this week.

Apple still plans to roll out a touchscreen iMac, M6 MacBook, and M6 iMacs this week, at Wednesday’s “Pro and tell” event, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter.

And it seems the first touchscreen Mac won’t be dubbed “MacBook Ultra” after all. In an X post last week, Apple \announced a “Pro and Tell” event for Wednesday, October 28 at 10 a.m. PT. It will be held in Los Angeles.

The tag line seems to hint that the touchscreen laptop will be dubbed some version of the MacBook Pro, not “MacBook Ultra.” Whatever the name, Gurman says it — along with an entry-level M6 MacBook Pro, iMacs with M6 processors, and an iPad mini with an OLED display — will be unveiled at the media event. It’s anticipated that at the products will be available starting November 6.

But back to the probably-not-named MacBook Ultra. Gurman said the high-end touchscreen ‌MacBook Pro‌ models will get M7 Pro and M7 Max chips “at the end of next year.” A refreshed low-end ‌MacBook Pro‌ with an M7 chip will launch next year, and an M7 Ultra chip is slated for the first half of 2028.
