The ‘MacBook Ultra’ may launch on November 6 (updated)

A 'MacBook Ultra' concept

Apple is planning to introduce new OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models on October 27 or October 28 with a possible launch on Friday, November 6, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said on a new podcast.

He adds that a “big floor reset” for Apple retail stores is slated for the evening of Thursday, November 5, and into Friday, November 6. Gurman said is most certainly to prepare for the new Mac laptop.

“MacBook Ultra” is the rumored name of the upcoming Mac touchscreen with an OLED screen. It should run M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, include a Dynamic Island instead of a notch, and (hopefully) have cellular connectivity options. It’s also expected to be lighter, if not thinner, than current MacBook Pros.

Look for a base model 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip and an iMac with an M6 chip will be unveiled at the same time the “MacBook Ultra” is announced.

But back to the MacBook Ultra. Gurman said the high-end touchscreen ‌MacBook Pro‌ models will get M7 Pro and M7 Max chips “at the end of next year.” A refreshed low-end ‌MacBook Pro‌ with an M7 chip will launch next year, and an M7 Ultra chip is slated for the first half of 2028.
