Really, Apple? The wall-mounted version of the HomeView will ship without a power adapter, USB-C cable, or mount, requiring customers to purchase compatible accessories separately, notes MacRumors.
Well, that just sounds chintzy. In a support document the tech giant says the standalone version of the smart home hub does come with a power cable and adapter, but the HomeView (Wall Mounted) requires a compatible third-party mount and power solution for operation, sold separately. Depending on the mount, you can use a separate power cable and adapter or connect to line power (hardwired). If power requirements aren’t met, the screen will also show a lightning bolt with a yellow exclamation triangle.
I see no logic in Apple’s decision. That said, both HomeView models are available to pre-order for $299 in the United States.
