Apple has reached an agreement to recruit employees from Huxe and license the AI audio startup’s technology, according to a new European Commission filing, as noted by MacRumors.
Huxe is (was?) a voice-first, AI-powered consumer app that turned emails, calendars, custom news feeds, and personal interests into personalized, interactive audio briefings and podcasts. It was founded in late 2024 by Raiza Martin (CEO), Jason Spielman, and Stephen Hughes—former members of Google’s original Google NotebookLM development team.
From the EC filing: Apple Inc. (“Apple”) will have the right to make employment offers to and hire certain employees of Huxe AI, Inc. (“Huxe”) and receive a non-exclusive license to Huxe’s intellectual property rights. Huxe provides a mobile application that creates personalized audio content. Apple designs, manufactures and markets smartphones, personal computers, tablets, wearables and accessories, and sells a variety of related services.
