Look for a second October Apple event to unveil the long-rumored ‘MacBook Ultra’

A 'MacBook Ultra' concept

Apple is expected to have a big media event on October 13 to unveil the long-rumored home hub (the “HomePad,” perhaps), new HomePod minis, and a new Apple TV set-top box.

However, Apple is planning to unveil additional new products in the final week of October, according MacRumors, quoting unnamed “multiple sources familiar with the matter.” I’m pretty such that the main product to be unveiled at such an event is the long-rumored “MacBook Ultra.”

And the latest macOS 27.2 beta hints at the long-rumored “MacBook Ultra.” The MacBook Ultra (which is the rumored name, not something Apple has confirmed) is expected to be the first touchscreen Mac. It should have an OLED display, run M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, include a Dynamic Island instead of a notch, and (hopefully) have cellular connectivity options. It’s also expected to be significantly lighter and thinner than current MacBook Pros.

Also likely to be unveiled at a second October event are a base model 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip, and an iMac with an M6 chip.
