Apple's upgraded Siri AI may not be available in the European Union for months.

Apple’s upgraded Siri AI may not be available in the European Union for months, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says in his latest Power On newsletter,.

He added that a delay of around five months would be the “absolute best-case scenario,” with European users potentially facing an even longer wait while Apple negotiates its compliance with the bloc’s digital rules.

Gurman thinks Apple is withholding the upgrade to pressure the European Commission, hoping that frustrated customers will push for changes to its approach.

Siri AI is a personal assistant powered by Apple Intelligence available in operating systems like iOS 27, featuring deep personal context understanding and a dedicated app interface. You can learn more about its capabilities through the Apple Intelligence Overview.

Power On is exclusively for Bloomberg.com subscribers. Get the full Power On newsletter every week — plus unlimited access to every featured article and a Q&A with Gurman— when you subscribe to the Tech Newsletter Bundle.
