Apple caves to Trump’s tantrum and seems to be renaming ‘Lake Ontario’ to ‘Lake America’ for US Maps users

Apple has caved to Trump’s tantrum and renamed "Lake Ontario" as "Lake America" for US Maps users.

Well, darn it. Apple has caved so Apple Maps users in the United States will likely soon see “Lake America” instead of “Lake Ontario” for the Great Lake.

Apple has started to make changes to the Lake Ontario listing in Apple Maps. Searches for “Lake America” now appear with the Great Lake. However, Apple will likely change the label in the next few hours, according to MacRumors.

Google has also caved in to Trump’s latest idiotic move. However, MapQuest is refusing to change “Lake Ontario” to “Lake America” on its map. Maybe I’ll start using it instead of Apple Maps.

A trio of House Democrats introduced legislation on Monday to block Trump from renaming Lake Ontario, which he signed an executive order to do so last week amid his trade war with Canada. It’s the latest temper tantrum from the US President.
