iFunSmart announces case for the not-offiically-announced foldable iPhone

iFunSmart has announced a case for the not-offiically-announced foldable iPhone.

Accessory maker iFunSmart has begun listing the first protective cases for Apple’s foldable iPhone (expected to be called either the “iPhone Fold” or “iPhone Ultra”), reports MacRumors.

It’s dubbed the “iFunSmart iPhone Ultra/Fold Smoke MagSafe Case.” It’s described this way: The ifunsmart translucent matte phone case offers a new ultra-thin experience with military-grade protection and a powerful N52 magnetic lock for all mobile accessories.

Neither a price or availability is listed.

The listings, first spotted by French Apple site iPhoneSoft, show an unobtrusive rear camera plateau housing two lenses, a slim profile, and a circular cutout for MagSafe-style magnets. iFunSmart describes the cases as offering military-grade drop protection, integrated N52 magnets, a translucent matte finish, and 1.5mm raised camera lips alongside a 1mm raised screen bezel.

The iPhone Fold/Ultra is expected to arrive this year if current design issues are overcome— sometime after the roll-out of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September or October. However, if there are design issues, it could be pushed to early 2027, when the standard iPhone 18 and an iPhone 18e are expected to debut.

Here’s a round-up of rumors about the foldable iPhone:

° It will use a dual-layer, ultra-thin glass structure to reduce display crease visibility.

° Apple has made deliberate engineering compromises to ensure that the first foldable iPhone features a Camera Control button, despite it being at least 1.1mm thinner than the iPhone Air when unfolded.

° Apple will offer the iPhone Fold/Ultra in three different storage capacities.

° The foldable smartphone will purportedly be offered in 236GB, 512GB, and 1TB options for US$2,320, $2,610, and $2,900, respectively.

° It will feature an interior foldable display roughly the size of an iPad mini. There also will be an external screen that’s about the size of the display on a small iPhone.

° Apple is developing new iOS app layouts and revamping its core iPhone programs to add sidebars along the left edge of the screen, similar to many of its iPad apps.

° The iPhone Fold/Ultra will have: a 7.8-inch inner display; a crease depth controlled to under 0.15 mm; and a crease angle under 2.5 degrees.
