Apple predicted to release two more ‘Ultra’ products: the ‘iPhone Ultra’ and the ‘MacBook Ultra’

iPhone Ultra concept

Reinforcing previous rumors, Macworld reports Apple has indeed decided to market two of its new products over the next year as “Ultra” products

One is the foldable iPhone. Macworld says it will be dubbed the “iPhone Ultra,” not an “iPhone Fold,” as was initially predicted.

And it won’t technically be part of the iPhone 18 lineup, which means it won’t have the number 18 in its name, similar to last year’s iPhone Air. Plus, it might ship a few weeks later than the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. (As for the standard iPhone, the rumor mill has it pegged not to arrive until early 2027).

As for the MacBook Ultra, Macworld says that will be the moniker of the first Mac laptop with an OLED display and a touchscreen. (And here’s hoping it will also have a cellar option.)

“This new MacBook will cost significantly more than the current MacBook Pro and offer an entirely new feature set than the existing models,” per Macworld. “Therefore, Apple plans to keep the MacBook Pro as a more affordable option for those who don’t need the latest technologies.

A ‘MacBook Ultra’ concept

As for the launch, the report reiterates reports that Apple had been planning to release the MacBook Ultra this. However, it may be pushed back to the first half of 2027 due to the recent RAM supply shortage.
