How to manage your kids’ screen time in macOS Tahoe

You can manage your kid’s screen time in macOS Tahoe. Parents can configure Screen Time on their Mac and everything is set up for their kids on their devices.

You can manage your kid’s screen time in macOS Tahoe. Parents can configure Screen Time on their Mac and everything is set up for their kids on their devices. You can also set age-based media ratings for the Music and Books apps. 

To set up Screen Time for a child on a Mac:

° Click the Apple menu () > System Settings.

° Click Screen Time in the sidebar.

° Click the Family Member pop-up menu and choose the child’s account. (If you don’t see it, ensure you’re signed into your Apple ID and using Family Sharing).

° Click Set Up Screen Time For Your Child, then Continue.

° Follow the onscreen instructions: This process allows you to set:

Downtime: Scheduled time away from screens.

App Limits: Time limits for specific apps and websites. 

Content & Privacy Restrictions: Block explicit content, set purchase limits, etc..

Communication Limits & Safety: Control who they can communicate with and check for sensitive photos.

Screen Distance: Alerts for holding the device too close.

° Create Passcode: You’ll set a 4-digit Screen Time passcode to prevent changes to these settings.
