Pieoneer is a fun alternative/complement to the macOS Dock

If you like the macOS Dock, you may not need Pieoneer; however, this US$9.99 utility is a fun alternative/complement to the Dock.

If you like the macOS Dock, you may not need Pieoneer from developer Martin Lexow. However, this US$9.99 utility — available at the Mac App Store — is a fun alternative/complement to the Dock.

It’a pie menu for macOS that allows users to switch between running apps and launch favorite ones. Pieoneer (gotta love that name) is eazy-peezy to set up and use. You can activate the pie menu anytime with a customizable keyboard shortcut.

The app’s wheel is centered on your mouse cursor. You can choose any app you currently have open via the wheel.

You can customize the pie menu with your frequently used app and folders. Pieoneer also lets you simulate keystrokes within other apps. This enables more advanced control directly from the pie menu — which is something you can’t do with the Dock. Pieoneer also offers various sound effects that play when navigating and selecting items in the wheel menu.
Do you really need Pieonee? Probably not. But it does bring some fun back to the Mac, something Apple seems to have forgotten how to do.
