I’ve been testing out two new cases from MAGEASY with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Following is what I think about each one.
The US$39.99 MagEasy Odyssey M Rugged (pictured above) isn’t the toughest case I’ve tested for my iPhone 16 Pro Max, but it’s darn tough.
It has two design frame textures: aviation aluminum alloy and faux leather pattern. The MagEasy Odyssey M Rugged boasts a TPU honeycomb structure for the edges and a high-transparency reinforced back panel, providing dual-layer protection.
It’s designed with a hollow structure to enhance shock absorption. All these features means the Odyssey is built to protect your iPhone from a 20-foot drop.
The Odyssey — which is clear, so the design of your Apple smartphone is on display — has a surface texture the relatively “grippable.” The folks at MAGEASY say the case prevents fingerprints, oils, dust, and other particles from adhering to the phone’s back panel. That’s a bit of an overstatement, as some fingerprints will appear. However, the MagEasy Odyssey M Rugged does help reduce this.
Enlarged camera control apertures reduce accidental touches. And the Odyssey M Rugged is compatible with MagSafe, the proprietary, magnetically attached wireless power transfer and accessory-attachment standard developed by Apple for its iPhones.
All these features, plus the adjustable lanyard feature (though the lanyard itself will cost you extra ) make the Odyssey M Rugged great for, say, a number of outdoor and outdoor scenarios where you want your pricey iPhone to be as well protected as possible.
Apple World Today rating (out of 5 stars): ★★★★
If you want a case that offers a little extra (though with slightly less drop protection) there’s theMagStand 360 M with Rotating Ring Holder, which is also $39.99.
Also, MagSafe compatible it sports a 360-degree rotating stand for both landscape and portrait orientations and a thicker inner ring for a more secure grip. It’s very comfortable thanks to its ergonomic design.
Plus — as with the MAGEASY Odyssey M Rugged — enlarged camera control apertures reduce accidental touches. The MagStand 360 M with Rotating Ring Holder is U.S. military drop-test certified, providing protection from drops as high as 16 feet — which is six feet less than the MagEasy Odyssey M Rugged.

BTW, both cases have cutouts for the iPhone 16 Camera Control button.
