I’ve found MoFT’s US$39.99 Snap Duo Watch Band to be a pleasant accessory for my new Apple Watch Series 12.
It’s just the right length — not too long, not too short — for my skinny wrists. MoFT sent me the light pink/brownie “flavor,” but I’d prefer the vast black/stardust hue (pictured). Other choices include peony/aqua, wake orange/swell blue, wade blue/echo gray, strike yellow/poise purple, and roam green/beyond blue. And you can download matching clock faces at the case’s web site.
Snap Duo Watch Bands — available in 48mm and 46mm sizes — have four wearable combinations to change. As it’s designed with bidirectional connectors, you can slide the watch bands in from either side to flip the color. They come with a buckle to secure the watch bands for, per MoFT, “light workouts, such as climbing, swimming, and cycling.”
However, I’ve found my Snap Duo to work pretty well for my not-so-light six-mile daily run. It holds my Apple Watch snugly and comfortably on my wrist.
I sweat a lot so it’s handy that Snap Duo Watch Bands are wrapped with waterproof and dirt-resistant silicone. This means they can withstand sweat as well as water exposure if you wear it while swimming.
The bands employ non-toxic, food-grade silicone, so they’re suitable for long-term wear. However, you should remove your Snap Duo and wipe off the sweat after a workout. Why? It’s designed with no indented grooves for a more minimalist look.
I recommend holding the case briefly under running water, then drying it after a workout. However, DO NOT clean a Snap Duo with concentrated household detergents, kitchen cleaners, makeup removers, etc., as they’ll likely damage the watch bands’ material.
Also, when you’re not wearing the Snap Duo, MoFT recommends you store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps it avoid dust or sun damage.
With these things in mind, the Snap Duo isn’t the watch band for everyone. Woven nylon and ventilated hook-and-loop straps are better for things like distance running because they’re more adjustable. Brands like Apple, Coros, and third-party makers offer soft nylon weaves that wick away sweat and eliminate the “sensor bounce” common with heavy silicone.
For others, the Snap Duo is an easy recommend. It’s easy to put on and take off compared to traditional pin-and-tuck or traditional metal buckles. Weighing around 30 to 33 grams, the band feels nearly weightless on the wrist during all-day wear. Plus, MoFT includes an additional silicone sport buckle for extra stability during intense exercise or high-movement workouts.
