MoFT’s SNAP Phone Tripod Stand is a handy accessory for iPhone-ographers.
Its slim, origami-style MagSafe accessory folds flat (well, almost flat: about .03 inches thick) against your phone.The SNAP is extremely versatile. It functions as a standard upright desk stand (portrait and landscape), an elevated floating tripod (lifting the phone up to 4.5 inches), and a handheld vlogging/selfie grip.
It proves three modes with adjustable angles:

The SNAP works natively with MagSafe iPhones (12 through 15 and newer) or with non-MagSafe phones using an included metal ring sticker. However, it only works on phone cases made from PC, TPU, or aluminum metal. Compatible phone cases should have a straight, flat back and no protective coating. Bare phones and phone cases made from silicone, leather, or wood need not apply.
Unavoidably, the SNAP does add a bit of weight (about 2.7 ounces) to your iPhone. And you should make sure there’s enough space for the tripod wallet to attach to. The tripod wallet measures 8 x 2.5 x 0.36 inches.
Still, there are advantages to its size. The tripod stand is thicker than the lenses of the iPhone, so you can lay it on the back without the lenses touching the ground.
I didn’t think the SNAP would be stable in its standing position. However, it is. With the origami-inspired structure, it has a triangular base for stability.
The SNAP seems durable, but I’ve heard some folks complain that the folding hinges and the vegan leather materials of which the SNAP is made can loosen or show wear after several months of heavy use. However, the folks at MoFT say the hinge of the tripod stand is made with manganese steel to remain solid even after being opened and closed 5,000 times.
The SNAP has its flaws, but if you take lots of photos with your iPhone (as my wife does), it’s worth a look.
