Apple purportedly wants to squeeze more revenue from its App Stores

Apple purportedly wants to squeeze more revenue from its App Stores.

Apple wants to “figure out ways to raise margins and squeeze additional recurring revenue from the [App Store] platform,”, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest “Power On” newsletter

He says new CEO, John Ternus, and Eddy Cue, Senior Vice President of Services and Health, are behind the initiative. Supposedly, this effort was part of the reason why longtime Apple executive/Apple Fellow Phil Schiller left the company last week.

Gurman says he thought certain changes would only further irk developers and governments. “While there was no internal blowup or anything like that, it’s something he wanted no part of,” Gurman says.
