In a Weibo post, the leaker known as “Fixed Focus Digital” says the first foldable iPhone has NOT been delayed. And the Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks he/she is right.
“The most likely scenario is that it will launch alongside the iPhone 18 series,” Fixed Digital Focus has said. “Even if there is a delay, it would probably only be postponed by about one month before going on sale,” they added.
However, I think he/she may be slightly off about the iPhone 18. Apple is expected to debut the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September or October, and the “standard” iPhone 18 and an iPhone 18e in early 2027. I do think the foldable iPhone — expected to be dubbed either the “iPhone Fold” or “iPhone Ultra” — will arrive this year. However, I think it not debut until a few weeks after the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
