Apple rumored to introduce an M5 Ultra chip along with the M5 Pro and M5 Pro Max next year

Apple will not only only roll out M5 Pro and M5 Max processors next year, but also an M5 Ultra, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Apple will not only only roll out M5 Pro and M5 Max processors next year, but also an M5 Ultra, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (a subscription is required to read the article).

He says we’ll see new M5 and M5 Pro Mac mini models and M5 Max and M5 Ultra Mac Studio updates — although he doesn’t predict when. There’s no mention of a Mac Pro update.

Apple introduce the M5 processor in the new iPad Pro and 14-inch MacBook. New MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors are expected in the first half of 2026.

He doesn’t mention any other Macs getting the M5 Ultra. A while back though, Gurman was expecting a new Mac Pro to launch some time in 2025.

The M5 Ultra is expected to be Apple’s most powerful processor, designed for high-end Macs, with potential to be based on two combined M4 Max chips, offering advanced CPU, GPU, and AI performance
