Apple is planning to make its upcoming update of the iPadOS 19 overhaul “more like macOS,” Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest “Power On” newsletter.
“I’m told that this year’s upgrade will focus on productivity, multitasking and app window management — with an eye on the device operating more like a Mac” he says. “It’s been a long time coming, with iPad power users pleading with Apple to make the tablet more powerful.”
I’m one of those folks. In fact, I’ve long argued that Apple should release an iPad with macOS as the operating system. That’s not likely to happen, but a version of iPadOS to be unveiled at June’s Worldwide Developer Conference might bring this closer to reality.
