In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple’s big redesign for macOS 16, iOS 19, and iOS 19 is codenamed “Solarium.”
A solarium is a room, often made of glass, designed to maximize sunlight exposure and create a warm, comfortable space, often used as a sunroom, greenhouse, or for tanning. Gurman says the operating system redesigns will modernize the interface across Apple’s devices, making them more consistent and easier to use.
Gurman says that the Solarium overhaul will offer the biggest iOS design change since 2013. Expect the revamped operating systems to be previewed at this summer’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference, which kicks off on January 9.
