Apple’s long-promised of a Siri update that incorporates Apple Intelligence may not arrive as quickly as anticipated, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. The update is facing engineering problems and software bugs, he said.
“The company first unveiled plans for a new AI-infused Siri at its developers conference last June and has even advertised some of the features to customers,” Gurman wrote. “But Apple is still racing to finish the software, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the situation is private. Some features, originally planned for April, may have to be postponed until May or later, they said.”
In Apple’s words, “Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that harnesses the power of Apple silicon to understand and create language and images, take action across apps, and draw from personal context to simplify and accelerate everyday tasks while taking an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI.”
