Apple reported to release iOS 18.1 on October 28 with Apple Intelligence features

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple will release iOS 18.1 on October 28 with at least some Apple Intelligence features.

In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple will release iOS 18.1 on October 28 with at least some Apple Intelligence features.

“That means new iPhone buyers will have to wait a few more weeks to get the most hyped component of their devices,” he says. “I’m told that Apple is taking its time with the rollout to ensure that major bugs are eliminated and it can support all the new traffic on its AI cloud servers.”

Gurman says the first version of Apple Intelligence will include things like notification summaries, while subsequent updates like iOS 18.2 will add ChatGPT integration and support for Genmoji custom emoji. He says that, in March, iOS 18.4 will include many of the upgrades to the Siri digital assistant, including its ability to control applications more precisely and tap into personal information to answer queries. Other new features coming after iOS 18.1 include automated email filing in the mail app, plus an Image Playground app for creating custom images.
