Rumors claim there’ll be no updated MacBook Pros this year (updated)

A new rumor from the account “yeux1122” on the Korean blog Naver — as noted by MacRumors — claims that updates of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro have been delayed until 2023. In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman concurs, saying the laptops and a new Mac mini will arrive alongside macOS Ventura 13.3 and iOS 16.3, probably in March.

While the new Macs won’t debut until next year, the company still has some software coming, he adds. The iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 updates, which began beta testing this past week, should be released around mid-December.

Here’s what the rumor mill has said about revamped MacBook Pros:

° They’ll sport M2 Pro and M2 Max processors.

° They’ll have “high-bandwidth, high-speed RAM.”

° They may 3nm processors rather than 5nm.

° There’ll be no new major design changes.
