We might see a 15-inch MacBook Air very soon

Panel production on the rumored 15-inch MacBook Air started in February and increased in March, with another ramp up planned for April, according to display analyst Ross Young.

In a tweet to subscribers, he said a launch in late April or early May looks likely. This isn’t the first rumor of a biggie-sized MacBook Air. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicted this and more in a September 2022 Power On newsletter

“Next year should be pretty jam-packed for Apple. Look for a 15-inch MacBook Air, new M3 iMac, the Mac Pro, updated HomePod, Reality Pro headset and a larger iPad,” he said. “There’s also the potential debut of the company’s combined Apple TV, HomePod and FaceTime camera device coming at the tail end of the year.”

Actually, most of these devices have been rumored for some time. In March, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said a new 15-inch MacBook Air would arrive next year, but he does’t think it would be dubbed a MacBook Air. Though he didn’t offer a different name, he said that although a larger display generally consumes more power, the design goal is to use a 30W power adapter.

As for a 15-inch MacBook Air, it would almost certainly sport an M2 processor.
