The PlugBug Slim is an efficient, portable charger for basic charging needs

Need a svelte charger that’s a breeze to take on-the-go? Then you need the US$24.99 PlugBug Slim from Twelve South.  It’s an USB-C charger that can juice up your iPhone, iPad and other devices at full speed with 20 watts of power.

At less than 0.67 inch (17mm) thick, it sits flush against a wall. This means you won’t have to move a desk, nightstand, lamp, etc., to plug it in.

What’s more, the PlugBug Slim is so sleek and slim, it blends into the outlet, which is aesthetically pleasing. Finally, its folding prongs make it easy to stash in a pocket or purse.

You can also use the PlugBug Slim to charge your Mac laptop. However, a higher wattage USB-C charger, at least equal to the Apple charger shipped with your Mac, is recommended for best performance while using it. If you must charge your MacBook with PlugBug Slim, you should do it while the laptop is in Sleep mode.

Unlike Apple’s chargers, Twelve South also included a LED status light to let you know the outlet has power. The PlugBug Slim USB-C Charger works in the US, Canada, Mexico and Japan, as well as any other countries or territories that use the Type-A US-style plug.

Is the PlugBug Slim for you? If all you require is 20WA of juice, certainly. If, for example, you want to fast charge your iPad Pro, no.
