Shazam for iOS gets ‘Discover Concerts With Shazam’ feature

Apple has updated Shazam to version 17.3; it now lets users identify songs around them or even within apps while wearing headphones.

Apple has updated Shazam for iOS, adding a “Discover Concerts With Shazam” feature that helps you find music concerts coming to your neck of the woods.

As noted by MacRumors, the Concerts section can be found in My Music, with recommendations based on each user’s Shazam history. Apple says that Shazam users can browse, search, and filter by artist, date, and location, plus they can explore trending concerts.

Events can be saved in the app with the option to set reminders about upcoming shows, view tickets, and unlock concert exclusives from select artists. These exclusives can include new watch faces and wallpapers, along with behind the scenes video, tour photos, and show set lists.

Shazam is a music recognition app that Apple acquired in 2018 for US$400. Last year it passed 200 monthly active users worldwide. It’s available as a standalone app and as a built-in feature on the iPhone and iPad.
