Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ top the latest smartphone ratings from ‘Consumer Reports’

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones (pictured) top Consumer Report’s latest smartphone ratings, beating out Apple’s iPhones.

Consumer Reports’ ratings rank smartphones in order of performance. For the Overall Score CR looked at ease of use, messaging, online browsing, display quality, voice quality, phoning, battery life, portability, and video quality. Music, camera, and other features and capabilities are also considered.

The S9 and S9+ are tied for first, with 81 points, edging out the Samsung’s Galaxy S8, with the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active and Galaxy S8 Plus next with 79 each. The highest-ranked Apple smartphones are the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8, which ranked sixth and seventh, while the iPhone X placed 8th.
