Report claims Apple is working on a foldable table to replace the iPad mini

The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) is dubious, but The Elec claims that Apple plans to replace the iPad mini with a foldable tablet in 2026 or 2027.

The report says that the foldable device will be 7-8 inches and will replace the 8.3-inch iPad mini model. However, The Elec adds that “Apple is also developing OLED for the iPad mini, so it is estimated that Apple has not yet determined the nature and specifications of the late 7-inch to early 8-inch foldable products.”

This isn’t a new prediction. In January 2023, a series of tweets by the usually-accurate analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple would release a foldable iPad with a carbon fiber kickstand in 2024. He said a carbon fiber kickstand will enable it to be lighter and more durable. Of course, this didn’t happen.
