Notable apps and app updates for Oct. 26, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

Corel has introduced CorelCAD 2017, the latest version of its powerful and affordable 2D and 3D computer-aided design software.

Available for macOS and Windows, it expands users’ drawing capabilities with updated 2D drafting tools designed to allow for a natural transition from 2D to advanced 3D design. CorelCAD 2017 offers native support for .DWG along with .DXF, .DWF, .PDF and other popular formats. It also offers design capabilities designed to speed and simplify the creation of 2D designs and 3D models.

Pricing for CorelCAD 2017 is US$699 for the full version and $199 for upgrades. Education and volume licenses are available.

Red Giant has announced Magic Bullet Suite 13, an update to its color correction, finishing and film looks tools for filmmakers. Every tool in the Magic Bullet Suite has received major updates and is now GPU accelerated.

And, for the first time, Magic Bullet Suite delivers real-time color correction thanks to OpenCL support in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, extending the toolset for users of the NLE. The app’s color correction tool now includes Guided Color Correction, a step-by-step process for quickly and accurately balancing a shot.

Current Magic Bullet Suite users can upgrade for $299 to the latest version via the Red Giant website. For new users the cost is $899. Customers can purchase individual products or the entire Magic Bullet Suite 13. A demo is available for download. Customers interested in five or more licenses of Magic Bullet Suite are eligible for the Red Giant Volume Program.
