If you want to use your iPhone as a ‘desktop lite,’ JSAUX’s USB-C Docking Station is for you

If you want to use your iPhone as a "desktop lite," JSAUX’s USB-C Docking Station is for you.

The JSAUX recently announced its first accessories for the iPhone 15 line-up. One is its US$54.99 USB-C Docking Station With Phone Holder that’s designed to allow you to use your iPhone as a kind of desktop-lite.

It features three ports on its back: a USB-C PD (supporting up to 60W), a USB-A 3.0, and an HDMI 1.4 port. On its sides, you’ll find SD/TF card slots, two more USB-A 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack that can be used to plug either a pair of headphones or a microphone.

With the USB-C Docking Station, you can connect your iPhone to monitors, keyboards, and mice. Just make sure the smartphone is either “naked” or in a case that’s 3mm (or less) thick. Plus, you’ll also need to make sure that you’re using a phone with USB-C connectivity; in other words, any of the iPhone 15 models.

With its 60W USB-C charging capability and USB-A and TF & SD data transfer at speeds up to 5 Gbps, you can quickly transfer large files, which is very convenient. For the best 60W charging, you should use a fast charging cable and charger supporting 60W with PD protocol (they must be purchased separately.)

Personally, as I have a Mac laptop and an iPad Pro, I have no desire to use my iPhone as a desktop, lite or otherwise. Having it serve as a phone, GPS, photo/video recorder, wallet, etc., works fine for me. However, I know a few folks who do almost everything from their smartphone. For them, the JSAUX docking station is an ideal accessory.
