Here are my top five favorite hardware devices of 2023

Macworld reports that there’s a rare update to the 140-watt power adapter that ships with the 16-inch MacBook Pro, though it’s unclear what it does as there are no release notes from Apple.

This year saw the roll-out of some incredible products. Here are my top five favorite hardware devices of 2023 with links to my full reviews:

° The 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro. The 24-inch iMac used to be my favorite Mac, but it’s been replaced by the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The biggie-sized laptop is the most practical computer for me at this stage in my life. And my latest is one equipped with the M3Pro (cause I can’t afford/don’t really need the M3 Max).

° The iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is going to add a hefty charge on your credit card, but if you can afford it, it offers a handsome new design and a fantastic camera system.

° Twelve South DeskPad. There are desktops, then there is Twelve South’s US$49.99 DeskPad, a vegan leather desk mat created for “Apple fans obsessed with detail” such as edges that match a MacBook’s corner radius and a textured surface perfected for precision mousing.

° The Monster DNA. The Monster DNA One Wireless Speaker may not quite the audio quality of the full-sized HomePod, but it’s VERY close. And at US$149.99, it’s half the price.

° Rock Paper Pen. Astropad’s US$41.99 Rock Paper Pencil is an excellent screen protector for the iPad Pro (third generation and newer), iPad mini (sixth gen), and 10.2-inch iPad (7th, 8th, and 9th generations) that comes with two tips for the Apple Pencil. If you do any sort of drawing or writing on your Apple tablet, you need this accessory.
