News round-up: Apple releases trailer for upcoming film, ‘The Banker’ (and more)

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_-nk9-sMus" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">released a trailer</a> for its upcoming film <em>The Banker</em>, starring Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nia Long, and Nicholas Hoult. It’s a fact-based period drama about entrepreneurs who tried to circumvent the racial limitations of the 1950s as they turned their business savvy into social activism and decided to help African Americans get loans in Texas. It will debut in theaters on Dec. 6, a few weeks before it arrives on Apple TV+.</p>

Apple TV has best video start time, highest picture quality among set-top boxes

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Conviva, which specializes in global streaming media intelligence, has released its quarterly <a href="https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=2629254-1&h=456810996&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conviva.com%2Fstate-of-streaming%2F&a=State+of+Streaming+report" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">State of Streaming report</a> for quarter three of 2019, revealing time spent streaming continues to climb – up 53% year-over-year – as consumers embrace on demand videos (63% of all streaming viewing is on demand) on their TVs, computers, and mobile devices. </p>

CIRP: iPhone’s U.S. installed base reaches 204 million

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><a href="https://www.cirpllc.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Consumer Intelligence Research Partners</a> has released analysis of the results from its research on Apple for the fiscal quarter that ended Sept. 28. The research group’s study indicates the iPhone’s U.S. installed base reached 204 million units. CIRP bases this estimate on an estimated global sales of 43 million iPhones, which is in turn derived from an estimated average selling price (ASP) of $783 and Apple-disclosed iPhone revenues.</p>

Adobe releases Photoshop for iPad, Illustrator for iPad in the works

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Today at <a href="https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fmax.adobe.com%2F&esheet=52122173&newsitemid=20191104005285&lan=en-US&anchor=Adobe+MAX&index=1&md5=67b2d84c8b0cb0102b4e3f17d7d007eb">Adobe MAX</a>, Adobe announced the next generation of Creative Cloud.  The company officially launched Adobe Photoshop on iPad, while also previewing Adobe Illustrator on iPad and the all-new Photoshop Camera. Photoshop for iPad is free (though it offers in-app purchases) and is available at the Apple App Store.</p>
