<p>On a regular basis, <em>Apple World Today</em> posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are today's picks.</p>

<p>A new study by the Piper Jaffray research sees a positive data point for the iPhone 7 and 8 in a survey that shows a <a target="_blank" href="https://seekingalpha.com/news/www.investors.com/news/more-teens-than-ever-expect-next-phone-to-be-an-iphone-piper-jaffray/" rel="noopener noreferrer">record 81% of teens</a> expect their next phone to be one of Apple's models.</p>

<p>All evidence points to strong sales for Apple's controversial MacBook Pro with Touch Bar released in 2016. However, the tech giant has dropped to fifth place among the “Best & Worst Laptop Brands” for 2017, as determined by <em>Laptop Magazine</em>.</p>

<p>Apple's store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan will include a "very unique area" for broadcasting its Beats 1 radio station, as part of ongoing renovations, according to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.macrumors.com/2017/04/09/apple-store-fifth-ave-beats-1-broadcasting/" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumors</a>, quoting an unnamed “person familiar with the matter.”</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://tonebands.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">ToneBands</a> has launched a line of sport-style silicone bands for the Apple Watch. The initial line comes in three colors: white, gray and lavender. </p>

<p>B-Eng has introduced Anti Virus Plus for macOS. It’s a virus scanner and vulnerability detector that the company says recognizes more than six million different viruses. </p>

<p>You can do fun things with your Mac, such as typing accents, emojis and symbols. macOS Sierra includes features that make it easy to find and type special characters and currency symbols.</p>

<p>The cameras that comes with the iPhone 7 and, especially, the iPhone 7 Plus are fantastic. And you can spice up your photos even more with Note-Ify Apps' <a target="_blank" href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/retricam/id975528927?mt=8" rel="noopener noreferrer">RetriCAM</a>, which also works with the iPad and iPod touch. And it’s free.</p>

<p>Users of personal computers, ultramobiles (which includes iPads, tablets and Chromebooks) and mobile phones are buying new devices at higher average selling prices (ASPs), resulting in growth in end-user spending in 2017. The <a target="_blank" href="http://www.gartner.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Gartner research group </a>estimates that end-user spending will increase by 2% in 2017, to nearly $600 billion in current U.S. dollars. </p>

<p>Nearly 96 million Americans (or 31% of the population) have had their Internet network, e-mail, or computer hacked or compromised. That's according to the results of the <a target="_blank" href="http://ooma.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ooma.com</a> Internet Security Survey—a survey of 1,000 Americans conducted by the VoIP provider.</p>

<p>Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s Senior Vice President, Retail, has been named one of the <a target="_blank" href="http://top50tech.org/2017/" rel="noopener noreferrer">2017 Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by the National Diversity Council</a>. This definitive list honors the most extraordinary female leaders, influencers and achievers impacting the technology industry.  </p>

<p>Apple has made a deal with NBC that will see <em>Saturday Night Live</em> creating humorous commercial content that will air during commercial breaks on the show, reports <a target="_blank" href="http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/saturday-night-live-lorne-michaels-advertising-verizon-apple-1202026162/" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Variety</em></a>. </p>

<p>Think of <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/clips/id1212699939?mt=8">Clips</a>, Apple's new, free app that allows iPhone and iPad users to create “expressive videos,” as “iMovie Lite.” It lets you combine video clips, photos and music into videos to share through the Messages app, or on Instagram, Facebook and other social networks.</p>
