Gartner: iPhone sales were flat year-over-year

<p>Global sales of smartphones to end users totaled 380 million units in the first quarter of 2017, a 9.1%  increase over the first quarter of 2016, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.gartner.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Gartner, Inc</a>. Mobile phone buyers are spending more to get a better phone, resulting in the rise in average selling prices of types of phone, according to the research group.</p>

iPhone SE tops customer satisfaction survey

<p>Apple is still in the lead among cell phone manufacturers with an American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) score of 81 (out of 100). This year, the top smartphone brand is the 4-inch iPhone SE with a score of 87. </p>

Apple to expand its contract manufacturer’s facility in Bengaluru, India

Most Apple Pay terminals in the UK can now accept mobile payments above £30

<p>Jennifer Bailey, vice president of Apple pay, told <a target="_blank" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2017/05/21/tipping-point-apple-pay-majority-uk-tills-accept-limitless-payments/" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Telegraph</a> that over half of contactless payment terminals in the UK are now able to take Apple mobile payment transactions of any value. Most card readers had previously been restricted to £30, the default upper limit for contactless card transactions.</p>

Apple sued for allegedly infringing electronic payment patents

<p>Another day, another lawsuit. <a target="_blank" href="http://usrid.net/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Universal Secure Registry</a>, a Boston area “enabling technology” company, has filed a complaint in United States District Court for the District of Delaware accusing Apple and Visa of infringing patents for electronic payments and identity authentication that paved the way for their mobile payment platforms.</p>
